Land of the Walking Dead
Land of the Walking Dead
By Steve Melton, July 28, 2013
Welcome to the world of the pre-dead, it’s a dark and scary place.
Most people are walking around like zombies, with blank stares across their face.
They have contracted a sin virus, it jumps from man to man.
Everyone has been infected across this unholy land.
It’s a spiritual gangrene that eats away your soul.
It’s hard to even look at once that virus takes it’s toll.
There’s a spiritual creature called Satan, he can morph inside your head.
He wants to take full control until you become the walking dead.
Oh, it’s a vicious fight, it goes on day by day.
Sometimes you can get him out, but he comes back in to stay.
The invasion of this body snatcher, is so very stealthy.
He makes people believe they are fine and that everybody is healthy.
This evil creature is so powerful as he rules this depraved land.
Against him only a few of the healed have courage to take a stand.
Look! There’s some of those people, walking around in a glow of light.
They are pure and holy, wearing beautiful robes of white.
People crying out! How did you get so well?
How did you get so pure? Go to the Great Physician, Jesus, He is the only cure.
There is a serum from His own blood, it takes away the sin.
It gives you back your life, it heals from within.
The Great Physician gives it free, but it must be understood.
The prescription must be followed or it absolutely does no good.
Jesus, who is the doctor of our souls has healed us and let our spirits soar.
For even in this land of the pre-dead, he gives us life forever more.
“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:1-10).
Food for Thought:
—“Things always have a way of working out. Never underestimate the power of prayer, faith and love.”
—“Everything will be alright doesn’t mean everything will be the same.”
—“It’s hard to be down when you are always looking up.”
—“Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.”
